Kengät - Shoes

Makrotex-haasteena on tällä viikolla kengät.

Itsellä ei ole uusien kenkien tarvetta koko kesänä. Niinpä kuvasin miehen uusimpia lenkkareita.

Sissi omi tietenkin laatikon nukkuboxikseen :)

The Makrotex topic this week is shoes.

I don't have use for new shoes this summer, so I photographed my husband's new running shoes.
Our cat Sissi is happy sleeping in the cartoon box :)

Kenkä tämäkin? Ainakin sitä kutsutaan avattavaksi kipsisaappaaksi :
Onkin kätevä: saa annettua jalalle ilmaa ja pääsee suihkuun ilman!
...
Is this a shoe as well? In any case it is called a cast boot or plaster boot :)
Very handy by the way: can be taken away when taking a shower!

Garden Week Mostly in Purple

This week has been characterized by strong wind and chilly weather.

After the hot & sunny May we are back to normal :)

The DRAUGHT is severe and many plants suffer despite of watering.

Rhododendron Catawbiense  'Roseum Elegans' or 'Grandiflorum'

I have only two rhododendrons and they are really sad looking in this draught.

Some blooms anyhow, this puple is Catawbiense 'Roseum Elegans' or 'Grandiflorum'.

The shrub is big and old, I do hope it survives.

Cornus alba 'Gouchhaultii' - Keltakirjokanukka

I have blue & dark purple pansies in five containers together with lime mummularia...

Somehow alliums are far less and smaller than last year, and also many aquilegias seem to have disappeared.

My post in 2017 of alliums & this rhododendron

Meconopsis cambrica - Keltavaleunikko / Hemerocallis - Keltapäivänlilja

Plantago media - Soikkoratamo

Plantago media is a fun plant that I like very much. It self sows eagerly in odd places...

But despite the weather I have found this and that to do in my outdoor gym.

Soon I'll be super fit!

Me and Sissi wish you a relaxing weekend!

My husband bought himself new running shoes and Sissi loves the cardboard box ❤︎

Centaurea montana, purple - Liila vuorikaunokki

Enjoy the summer despite the weather!

Pihapiirin elämää - Wild Life

Muutama huonohko kuva tämän viikon Makrotex-haasteeseen / huhtikuu.
Ei likaisen ikkunan läpi ja kaukaa hyviä kuvia voi millään saada!

Mutta nämä keväiset eläimet ilahduttavat minua kovasti:

Fasaani on ottanut hoitaakseen aamukiekumiset;

pari jänistä kirmailee hangella naapurin puolella; eilen näin ensimmäiset kolme sepelkyyhkyä.

Naapurin musta Sissi-kissa käy moikkailemassa meidän Sissiä - joka ilta :)
Taitaa se kevät olla vihdoin matkalla tänne!

A few poor photos, taken through a very dirty window and at a distance.

But these wild animals bring me so much joy:

A colorful pheasant screaming & strutting in the garden;

two rabbits play & run on the snow blanket at the neighbour's side;
yesterday I saw the first three wood pigeons!
The neighbour's black cat Sissi comes and says hello to my Sissi - every night...

Signs that the spring is finally arriving!

Sissillä on paljon mielenkiintoista tarkkailtavaa! - There is so much interesting to see!

Aurinkoista viikkoa! - Have a splendid sunny week!

White Weekend

We got snow alright! Yesterday I was so exhausted from shoveling, you can't imagine.
But today almost totally recovered. The scenery is white, the sky grey.
So no light for photographing. That's why the outside photos are from last winter
when it was  a bit winter sun to be seen.

Sissi wants to go out first thing in the morning. I have to keep a path open for her.
She watches squirrels, blackbirds etc. Even on a leash I have to be careful for she attacks like a lighting!

In accordance with the snowy scenery my tulips for this weekend are white.
I tried to imitate Mascha, for she has a blue theme at her blog.
I used a painting found at a flee market & some necklace to create blue atmosphere.
It is pretty awkward, but I got blue shades!
