Floral Bliss #66

This week spring flowers and still a bit of Easter.
All photographed in a garden center - outside we have still winter.
Pouring snow on Monday inspired me to search for spring again.

There were very cute Easter plantings, a pity I did not visit them earlier.

Plantings in big glass bottles looked very nice.
How on earth they manage to plant them through a small hole!

I just had to buy myself this tall & cute Bunny Boy - It shall be my Garden Mascot 2018 ❤︎

Easter is meant to be a symbol of hope, renewal, and new life.

Virpominen is one of the Finnish Easter traditions - read more - mehr lesen!
In short this means that kids dressed as Easter witches or trulls
come with fancy decorated willow twigs to your door.
Then they recite a spell in poetry form wishing you all the best for the coming year.
When you get the fancy decorated twig you are supposed to give the kids some Easter candy.

Virvon, varvon, tuoreeks terveeks, tulevaks vuodeks; vitsa sulle, palkka mulle!

Floral Bliss #64

This week I'll share some white, green & pale yellow flowers.

Pale yellow of roses is so beautiful.

Soft green of Hydrangeas & Cymbidiums pleases my eye.

And a white amaryllis is to die for!

Less than two weeks till Easter!

Bright days! - Valoa!

Floral Bliss #63

Yellow is the color of spring & Easter. So yellow it is!
We have an old saying: Maaliskuu maata näyttää - meaning
March starts to show the ground / the snow starts to melt.
It has been raining, hopefully the rain does its job!

In many other languages the word March derives from the latin Martius,
meaning a month dedicated to Mars, the god of war - mars (French & Swedish), March, März.
We Finns want to be peculiar and use the word maaliskuu.
It derives probably from the word maa - meaning soil, earth, country.

I saw this pretty cart - it would be fine in the garden too!
To me chrysanthemums say autumn, but why not in the spring too?

Talvi otteensa päästää, kylmiltä kouriltaan säästää.
Siis paiskaa keväälle kättä, tartu siihen empimättä!
Anna auringon kutittaa, piposi alle kurkistaa.
Jopa alkaa naurattaa, pajunkissatkin kikattaa.
Räystäät vettä kippaa - leikittäisiinkö hippaa?
- Kati Söderberg

Winter lets go its grip & loosening its cold  fists.
Shake hands with spring, stick to it, don't  hesitate!
Let the sun tickle & peek under your cap.
All this makes you laugh, even the catkins start to giggle.
The eaves tip water - shall we play and have fun?
- Kati Söderberg

I am not sure what this joyful creature in primula plantings was -  a happy  bee?
